Sitting amidst vineyards and olive groves, Villa Benvenuti is immersed in the verdant Luccan countryside, where each season brings a dazzling variety of fruit and vegetables. To celebrate this local abundance we offer residential cooking courses: help bring in the grape or olive harvest, learn how to make pasta and prepare Italian vegetables, meat or game in season, and meet the local food producers who make our farm to table ethos possible.
To launch Villa Benvenuti Seasonal we are proud to be hosting the 2016 olive harvest with Valentina Harris for two long weekends in November (11–14 and 18– 21 November). The hills around Villa Benvenuti will be a flurry of activity as the olives are safely gathered in; come and join us for a long weekend building up hearty appetites harvesting in the olive groves, no previous experience required. You will learn how generations of Lucchesi traditionally harvest and care for their trees and how to prepare delicious seasonal feasts whilst indulging in olive oil and wine tastings, with time enough to relax in front of roaring olive wood fires.
